Players who purchased Watch Dogs on PC are experiencing a range of performance issues, according to analyses and user feedback.
Several users on Watch Dogs' Steam listing page expressed concerned that the game doesn't run well on PCs with AMD components. Other users experienced stuttering graphics, misaligned audio cues and frequent crashes, despite having rigs that meet Watch Dogs' PC requirements.
In Digital Foundry's Watch Dogs Performance Analysis, it confirmed the presence of stutters and tears in the PC version, "even with powerful gaming hardware." Digital Foundry also confirmed that problems are much worse on AMD cards than on Nvidia hardware, especially the stutter effect in Watch Dogs' graphics. The performance analysis does indicate, however, that adjusting texture quality mitigates the negative effects more than changing graphical presets.
