The 100: "The Calm" Review

Apologies for another late review this week, and one I’ll be keeping short again.


It seemed like this week's episode might be a bit of a time killer initially – taking a step back from the precipice of the big 100/Grounder battle to deal with a different crisis, in the form of the immediate need for food. However, by the end of the episode, things had gotten impressively intense again.


Clarke and Finn being taken by the Grounders gave us more insight into their society. Discovering they routinely take children into battle – and that these children are already killers at a young age – certainly added to the threat they pose. And wow on how Clarke dealt with her captor… Using the knee injury he mentioned and then actually slicing his throat. The “Shhh!” as he bled out and she held her hand over his mouth was really powerful and a pretty big moment for Clarke as far as crossing a line.
