It's disappointing to have to wait until 2015 now to get our hands on the final version of The Order 1886, but to help soothe our woes, Sony gave us the chance to play through this early build.
This level picks up right after
the movie the team released in February
. Galahad and the Knights of the Round Table have just stumbled into a fight with the Rebels in White Chapel. The rebels have been stashing weapons in a nearby distillery and have pinned down Lady Igraine and an unfortunate constable in the courtyard outside. Now the knights have to help Igraine take care of these low-class agitators, not with progressive social reforms, but with bullets.
Galahad and his knights are armed with a couple of impressive weapons, but our demo had us mostly using the Thermite Rifle. The main barrel fires iron oxide pellets, which can then be ignited using an underslung flare launcher. The resulting pyrotechnics damage and distract any enemies caught in the cloud. Given how the cloud expands and spreads, the weapon is a great cover buster for enemies who are cravenly hiding behind barricades.
