Having just written about the new Cliffhanger reboot in the works, we can also report that the Stargate franchise (movie + three spinoff TV shows) is getting a reboot as well.
This new Stargate reboot/reimagining is being done with the hopes of creating a new movie trilogy - and it's being done by the original Stargate producer/director team of Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich. Together, Devlin and Emmerich also wrote the original Stargate.
1994's Stargate starred James Spader and Kurt Russell as a scientist and a solider who travel through a wormhole to a distant place in the universe. Their characters were played by Michael Shanks and Richard Dean Anderson in the long-running Stargate SG-1 TV series.
