The action genre is flush with larger-than-life film characters, so bringing all of them together in The Expendables seemed like a no-brainer. But video games don’t have a shortage of heroes, lawbreakers and badasses either. Commander Shepard knows what it means to be a leader. If you’re going to manage a multifarious crew of aliens, rogues and biotics during a suicide mission, you’re going to need some charisma. It helps you build up relationships, so when times get tough, your crew is there by your side. With so many renowned video game characters coming together for the first time, differences need to be put aside, and if anyone can unite the group against a common enemy, it’s Shepard.
