Sony Pictures has reportedly zeroed in on Paul Feig to direct the next Ghostbusters movie, a reboot that will focus on women.
"The movie is a total reboot most likely with female characters played by comedic actresses in the ghostbusting roles, according to sources. The script will be written from scratch," according to Variety, which adds that "no formal negotiations" have begun yet with Feig.
Originally conceived as Ghostbusters 3, that project suffered a number of setbacks, including the death of actor Harold Ramis and the departure of original director Ivan Reitman.
