Star Wars #14 Review

STK631681 For a long time, it seemed like Star Wars comics had a pathological fear of featuring too much Darth Vader. In the olden days, it was more by official mandate, but many recent projects that purported to star the greatest villain of them all wound up focusing more on random Jedi and smugglers. With this latest two issue story arc, Brian Wood has offered the ideal balance when it comes to Vader. The central antagonist of the series has come into the spotlight, but still kept at a bit of a distance. Wood's latest creation, Ensign Nanda, serves as a representative for the reader. We see Vader through her eyes - the terribly imposing, unstoppable force. And we see Vader as he truly is - a wounded, tormented man who has begun seeking his destiny beyond the scope of his despicable master.
