Director Paul W.S. Anderson is no stranger to apocalyptic movies having made the Resident Evil film series and now he trades in Raccoon City for Pompeii in the year 79 A.D. for this 3D, CG-heavy disaster epic.
Game of Thrones' Kit Harington plays the lead role of Milo, a slave from Britannia who fights as a gladiator for his Roman overlords under the name "The Celt." He harbors a deep hatred for the Romans since they slaughtered his parents in front of him as a little boy. Now grown, Milo is shipped off to Pompeii where he will fight in the arena for the seaside town's wealthy citizens. (The movie depicts Pompeii as basically the Las Vegas or Dubai of the Roman empire.)
