Night of the Living Deadpool #3 Review

STK631301 Night of the Living Deadpool #2 improved on the first issue by balancing the humor and zombie pop culture references with a bit of darker drama. Issue #3 furthers that trend, to the point where there might actually be more tragedy than comedy this time around. As it turns out, there's really not a lot to laugh about when the undead have overtaken the world.


This issue sees Wade ingratiate himself into a town full of happy, healthy survivors, after first saving them from a horde of vengeful senior citizens. But it isn't long before Cullen Bunn throws another wrench or two in the works, dealing with the source of the outbreak and the question of what fallout awaits Deadpool after being bitten in an earlier issue. I like having all this tragedy about, as it creates the sense that Wade is actually fighting for something worthwhile and not just prancing about and fourth-wall-breaking the day away. The humor in this series is fine, but nothing special by Deadpool standards.
