Almost as iconic as an actual comic book character, Kevin Smith has a big fan following. Creating low-budget films like Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma, Smith has become a triumphant, everyman symbol for ambitious film geeks.
Well, that ambition has inspired two of his fans -- Christopher Downie and Brett Murray -- to fund a project based on Smith’s experiences shooting Clerks.
Slash Film reports that Shooting Clerks, a biopic chronicling the struggles of making Smith’s film debut, has begun crowdsourcing on IndieGoGo.
Smith endorses the project, and will even make a cameo, if the film gets made. Below is the video endorsement from Smith (which is surprisingly SFW):
