My favorite line from "Survivor Zero" was when Sutton said to Hatake, "Perhaps you are full of shit." That's how I feel about Helix sometimes, like it's conning me into thinking its better than it is. Because I'm definitely enjoying the show, and I look forward to it, yet it can be so frustratingly dumb at points. Like last week, this was another mixed bag.
When the Ilaria soldiers arrived they reminded me of Cobra foot soldiers, and this seemed apt when Sutton "revealed" (we sort of already knew, didn't we?) that Hatake had been tasked to create a virus and a cure, all for some sort of world domination plan. I mean, that's straight-up something Cobra Commander and the Baroness would cook up. Jeri Ryan is a terrific addition to the mix, and Sutton seems likely to be the common enemy that will bring Alan and Hatake together. The character is very aggressive, something not found in most of the original characters. The shot of Sutton filing her teeth down with a power sander was beyond gah! My spine is shivering just thinking about it.
