During yesterday's Nintendo Direct presentation, President Satoru Iwata announced two digital games for the 3DS eShop, Steel Diver: Sub Wars (available now!) and Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball.
Both games follow a free-to-play model, but Nintendo isn’t using that term even though it has in the past. Steel Diver: Sub Wars has a free version that comes with full local and online multiplayer capabilities, two single-player missions, a few subs, and crew members that add statistical bonuses to each one. The premium version costs $9.99 and comes with additional content and future opportunities to purchase DLC. Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball is only available as a free download. This baseball mini game collection comes with a free demo of two games, but you can purchase additional ones from an in-game shopkeeper.
