With the increasing number of villains in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it’ll be a miracle if Gwen Stacy makes it out of this one alive. And while some of the bad guys are appearing in full super villain capacity, others apparently will be depicted in a more realistic way. B.J. Novak's character seems to be among the latter group.
The film’s director, Marc Webb, tweeted yesterday about Novak’s upcoming book (called One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories). And in that tweet, he referred to Novak in brackets as "A. Smythe." Unless the film goes all Incredible Hulk TV series on us and changes his first name, it looks like Novak’s character is called Alistair Smythe.
