It's never good when a series loses its artist after one issue, especially when that artist is as high-profile as Adi Granov. But the good news with Captain America: Living Legend is, not only does the book weather Granov's departure, it's actually better off for it. This is still a pretty basic, straightforward Cap tale, but the visual quality has improved in the second issue.
All credit goes to Agustin Alessio. This painter recently distinguished himself on Infinity: Against the Tide. Alessio's style is not dissimilar from Granov's in the first place, and he does a great job of delivering an issue that falls as close in line with the first as possible. Where this issue improves is in the general level of storytelling. Granov's figures can often appear stiff and lifeless, as is often the case with painted sequential art. Alessio manages to inject more life into his figures, enough so that they emote and interact without too much Uncanny Valley eerie-ness dragging down the book.
