With the events of Infinity #5 pointing all major players at Earth, Avengers #22 (which should be read after Infinity #5) is the expected “calm before the storm” issue. We see a new romantic couple emerge, hear the battle plan, and get a couple inspiring talks from the big-name Avengers. There are a couple cool moments to enjoy in this issue, but it’s not the most exciting one. It will make for a nice segue chapter in the Infinity collection that I imagine will include all of these tie-in issues with the main event. For now, all it does is make the wait for the next issue of Avengers that much more unbearable.
