While Universal Studios Orlando haven’t given an exact debut date for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, the much-anticipated expansion -- going beyond the wildly popular original, Hogsmeade-themed Wizarding World section -- is clearly just around the corner, on track to open this summer.
This week saw a lot of movement on that front, as new details were given about the flagship attraction/ride in Diagon Alley, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts (check out the video below), while invites went out to a press event there next month. I’ll be covering that event, so look for more from Orlando in a few weeks!
As we head towards the opening, I had the opportunity to speak to art director Alan Gilmore, one of the talented crew working on Diagon Alley, and the Gringotts ride specifically.
