Dark Souls' Miyazaki Made From Software President

Hidetaka Miyazaki, the man responsible for directing both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, has been appointed From Software president.


The news comes courtesy of Dengeki Online (via NeoGAF) and takes effect immediately. The appointment was made by new owner Kadokawa, which also announced former president Naotoshi Jin will remain with the company in an advisory capacity.


Though he enjoyed tenure on the Armored Core franchise, it's for his role directing both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls that Miyazaki is best known. When the decision was made with Dark Souls II to appoint new directors, Miyazaki stepped back into an advisory role and has since been hard at work on a new game.
