Constantine is a monthly title in the New 52, he’s the leader of Justice League Dark, and has been played by Keanu Reeves in his own film. But, those titles are bugger all compared to your poor old mum’s John Constantine monthly: Hellblazer.
As the inspiration for NBC’s new Constantine series, Hellblazer was an ongoing comic following the infamous confidence man as he lied, cheated, and stole his way through life, the afterlife, and everywhere in between. He dabbles in magic, deals with the occult, and binge drinks like his life depended on it. Over the course of 300 issues, Constantine aged into an old bastard who had betrayed and been betrayed by everything in his life, including his own bloody body.
