The city of Chicago has had a long and storied history in video games leading up to the release of Watch Dogs next week. Ubisoft has done an incredible job of capturing the sights, sounds, and general tone of Chicago for their open-world hackathon.
As a Chicago native, I felt remarkably at home bumming up and down Navy Pier, driving around The Loop, and standing in the shadow of the Sears Tower. But while Watch Dogs might be the most sophisticated and accurate depiction of the Second City, it certainly wasn't the first game to take place on the shores of Lake Michigan. Here are some of the best and worst adaptations of Chicago in video games.
