Comic book covers are made to grab your attention so you’ll pick up an issue and give it a read. But what makes a good one? Is it technically accurate artwork or wild designs? Humorous pictures or shocking imagery?
We like to think it can be any mix of those factors, but a great cover is one that is memorable, so here are the Top 10 that we couldn’t take our eyes off in April.
Deadpool #27's cover isn't that interesting from a composition standpoint. It's basically just several hundred characters standing around, which is why it didn't rank in the top ten this month. But for the sheer amount of effort and care that went into cramming so many familiar Marvel faces into one image, the cover deserves some sort of recognition. The cover even claimed the Guinness World Record for most characters on a single cover. Nearly every Marvel character who's anyone, as well as a handful of Marvel editors, all showed up to help Wade Wilson celebrate his nuptials.
