Get ready, New York - Some Marvel superheroes will soon be roaming your streets! The Wrap is reporting that the upcoming Marvel/Netflix TV series Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist, will all be filming in New York. A source has told The Wrap that Disney CEO Bob Iger and Governor Andrew Cuomo will announce the plan today in Times Square and that "the state has carved out tax incentives valued at around $4 million to accommodate the needs of the massive multi-character series."
In Marvel Comics, New York City has traditionally been where a huge amount of the Marvel superheroes are based out of, including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man. However, no Marvel Studios production has been primarily shot in New York - even films like The Avengers and Captain America, which had many scenes there, only filmed a few key exteriors in the city.
