Strike Back Production Delayed Due to Injury

Cinemax's British-American action drama Strike Back was scheduled to wrap up this year with its fourth and final season. However, extenuating circumstances may force the series to bow in 2015.


Deadline reports that actor Sullivan Stapleton, who stars on the show as Sgt. Damien Scott, has suffered a serious injury in Bangkok, Thailand, where he was filming the final 10 episodes. Though Strike Back is a very physically-taxing series, Stapleton actually sustained the injury during his free time off the set. No specific details as to the cause were given.


Production will take a six-month break before moving to Hungary, allowing time for the actor to heal and train again. Fortunately, Stapleton already shot many of his scenes to allow the show to film around the time allotted to promote his role in 300: Rise of an Empire, so production will continue in Thailand through March before going on hiatus.
