Publisher Kalypso Media has just opened up registration for a chance to beta test Tropico 5 for PC. The beta is only for the PC version, and not available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. The full release of the dictator sim is slated for sometime in the second quarter of 2014.
Tropico 5 will introduce many new mechanics to the series, such as the progression through time periods. Players will be able to advance their country through different eras of history, from the 1800s to present day. The egregious dictator El Presidente will also have an extended family to help lead. Other aspects are also being overhauled, like the economy, trading, military, alongside the addition of multiplayer.
