Peter Quill – aka Star Lord – is the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, a rag-tag gang of warriors who will be winging their way onto cinema screens this August.
As played by Parks and Rec star Chris Pratt, he’s also the film’s light relief, injecting a healthy dose of sarcasm into what’s set to be Marvel’s funniest movie yet.
We visited the film’s set last year to watch the Guardians in action – the results of which can be read here. But we also dug a little deeper with Pratt and the film’s writer-director James Gunn to find out more about the character, the casting process, and the reasons why he might be Marvel's answer to Han Solo.
