The World's Best Hearthstone Player Will Win $100,000 USD

Blizzard will be inviting the world's greatest Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft players to BlizzCon this year for the chance to win a share of a $250,000 USD prize pool.


Whoever comes out on top will leave BlizzCon $100,000 USD richer. The second place prize is $50,000 USD, with third and fourth place players taking $15,000 USD, fifth through eighth claiming $7,500 USD each, while the ninth through sixteenth place players will each pocket $5,000 USD.


Four players from each of Hearthstone's geographic regions, the Americas, Europe, China, and Korea/Taiwan, will qualify to compete in an "all-kill" best-of-five live tournament at BlizzCon.


All-kill means that when a player loses a match, they must change the deck they are using. Players are expected to bring their own decks and are limited to only three, and there are three classes per player per match, according to the rules laid out on the Hearthstone section of Battle.net.
