It would have been a surprise at this point if it had not occurred, but the CW have now picked up The Flash to series. The Arrow spinoff was assumed to be a lock for the network for the next season, but the greenlight hadn't been officially given until now.
The network have also ordered another DC Comics adaptation, iZombie -- from Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas -- plus Jane the Virgin and The Messengers. Meanwhile, The 100, Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast have been renewed, while The Carrie Diaries, Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People have been canceled. The network have passed on two potential new series, including the Supernatural spinoff, Supernatural: Bloodlines and Identity.
