The Flash Annual #3 Review

Although the Flash has dealt with a wide variety of threats in his tenure as a character, he is a sci-fi based hero at his core. Time travel, one of sci-fi’s more entertaining staples, has presented the Flash with many challenges in the past, and it looks like Robert Venditti and Van Jensen are looking to challenge our fleet-footed hero with the staple once more. The Flash is also beginning to lose track of time himself, which has led to disastrous results that bleeds twenty years into the future. The thrust of this arc seems to be centered around time, and the effect that this has on our hero and his world. The results are interesting, but there is an emotional disconnect from our hero’s motivations that lessens the impact of the overall tale.
