Supergiant Games revealed today "Recursion Mode" in its upcoming game, Transistor.
"Recursion mode is unlocked after you finish Transistor’s story," said Supergiant Games creative director Greg Kasavin on the PlayStation Blog. "You’ll then have the option to recurse through the experience, retaining your progression data," meaning gamers will keep their user level and all the Transistor functions they've unlocked.
According to Kasavin, this means that players of Transistor will be "discovering new function combinations" all the way through the initial play-through of the game, but will also "find some new surprises in the content itself the second time around." He added that the most notable "surprise" will be the composition of enemy forces. "It’ll be different just about every time you play. This means you can really sink your teeth into the core gameplay"
