Star Wars: The Clone Wars fans still bemoan the end of that Emmy-award winning animated series, especially because it was known that a lot of work had been done on additional, uncompleted episodes – not only for Season 6 (which was a truncated 13 episodes because of the cancellation) but even into Season 7 and perhaps beyond.

We have learned some tidbits here and there about what we would have seen had the show continued, but the new comic book Star Wars: Darth Maul – Son of Dathomir is actually telling one of these stories in its entirety. The existence of this comic is a source of conflicted feelings to be sure, in that Clone Wars fans can’t help but wish this storyline -- and the many others that were in the works -- were simply completed and aired as episodes of the series. But, given that just isn’t going to happen, at least Son of Dathomir is here to hopefully provide, by the end, some closure on one of the show’s biggest lingering plotlines – the fate of Darth Maul.
