Saga #19 Review

Somewhere, Brian K. Vaughan has a Wheel-Of-Fortune type spinner labeled "Most Unexpected Ways to Open a Comic Book." His Saga returns in the same manner in which it left--shocking, provocative, and oh-so-entertaining.


As made evident before the long (LONG) hiatus, Saga has jumped forward a bit. Hazel is now a toddler, butchering words with ridiculous cuteness as parents Alana and Marko try to keep a low profile. After a brief interlude regarding the hierarchy of the Robot Kingdom (as well as the birth of lil' baby 'bot), we then find Alana and Marko in their new day-to-days. Marko, looking like a cross between a Backstreet Boy and the Invisible Man, is on Hazel duty, while Alana moonlights as a stage to screen to screen actress. Despite finding safe haven, the fear of discovery haunts their every waking moment, straining their relationship in ways we've only just begun to see.
