Netflix is reportedly in talks for a brand new prequel series to the 2001 cult favorite Wet Hot American Summer. If true, the news would herald one of the greatest developments of the young millennium, if not all time.
Wet Hot American Summer chronicled the last day at Camp Firewood in 1981 Maine as counselors and campers alike raced to bring fitting conclusions to their respective summers.
The satirical comedy was written by Michael Showalter and David Wain with Wain directing. It starred Showalter and many of his fellow The State alums. The impressive cast included Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Michael Ian Black, Paul Rudd, Christopher Meloni, Molly Shannon, Ken Marino, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Judah Friedlander and many more. While not a hit at the box office, the movie has gained a devout cult following since landing on DVD.
