Tyrion Lannister probably could have lived a perfectly quiet, ignoble life as Tywin's unloved (but stinking rich) youngest son, drinking and whoring his way into an early grave. That is until Catelyn Stark seized him, thinking he had orchestrated and attack on Bran's life (Gee, I wonder who told her that). And ever since then, the stunted prince of perversion has been on an uphill arc toward redemption and responsibility.
