It's hard not to pine for the days when Marvel more readily explored other genres besides superhero comics. And while the horror end of the Marvel Universe is still pretty poorly exploited these days, at least their martial arts franchises are seeing a resurgence this year. Deadly Hands of Kung Fu offers Shang-Chi a starring role in the wake of his Avengers status. While the script won't blow Shang-Chi fans away, it does offer a decent start to this new mini-series. The artwork may be harder to tolerate, however.
