Could the Fantastic Four and X-Men Team Up Onscreen?

There’s a possibility that the X-Men and Fantastic Four could crossover onscreen, according to screenwriter Simon Kinberg.

The superhero scribe penned X-Men Days of Future Past, which hits screens this week, and the Fantastic Four reboot, which will be released next summer, so we asked him about the two franchises potentially merging.

“The tone is slightly different,” he explained. “Part of the challenge of The Fantastic Four vs the X-Men is if the Fantastic Four are in a world where mutants are well-known, then they’re not really that Fantastic any more. They’re just four more people with powers. So we’re making a Fantastic Four movie that’s just standalone.”

But when asked if he’d personally like to see the two teams join forces, Kinberg was more positive.
