Last week we heard that Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them would be getting a November 18, 2016, release date. And while Rowling herself will be writing the film, there have been no director or cast decisions made yet -- or even any real names thrown around. But that’s about to change.
Reporter Nikki Finke tweeted the following today: “I hear Alfonso Cuaron ('Gravity', 'HP/Azkaban') deep in talks to direct JK Rowling's Harry Potter spinoff 'Fantastic Beasts'. Perfect pick.”
