It's hard to miss Superior Spider-Man too much when the Amazing Spider-Man relaunch is so focused on exploring the fallout of Otto Octavius' tenure as Spider-Man. Issue #2 is at its best whenever it focuses on the many unexpected ways Peter's life is overturned by discovering relics of Otto's life, be they minor annoyances like changed ringtones or major drama like Anna Maria learning the man she fell in love with is gone. Some of this material is played for laughs, and some is deadly serious. But it all makes for an enjoyable new status quo for our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
