After the excitement of the first hour and the rush of Jack’s spectacular rescue of Chloe, the second hour of the premiere settles into the more familiar rhythms of a traditional episode of 24. Of course when we’re talking about 24, “settles” is a relative word—there might not be any drone attacks here but there’s still one of Jack and Chloe’s terrific improvised missions, a couple tense standoffs and a brutal murder. So, yeah, they’re settling in nicely.
