Zemeckis to Direct Twin Towers High-Wire Story

Robert Zemeckis will direct To Reach the Clouds, the story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit’s famed walk between the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers in 1974.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is being eyed to star in the film, which Zemeckis co-wrote with Christopher Browne from Petit’s memoirs. Deadline reports that Tom Rothman’s TriStar Productions is in the process of acquiring the project.
