Guy Ritchie Planning Six-Film King Arthur?

Director Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes) is allegedly circling a new movie based on the legend of King Arthur. Six of them, actually. The films would be big budget tentpoles for Warner Bros., with the first of them being written by Joby Harold (Awake) who also came up with the overall concept for the series.

The massive undertaking is the latest King Arthur project Ritchie has been attached to in recent years. The British director and partner Lionel Wigram previously had to abandon their efforts to develop a version of the story based on a script by John Hodge (Trainspotting). According to Deadline, that project fizzled when it began to look like another King Arthur movie David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, The Change-Up) directing was closer to getting the green light from Warner Bros.
