Note: Full spoilers ahead!
I was skeptical of a Dewey-focused season at the start, but it's paying off well. Dewey (Damon Herriman) constantly fumbling missions, not quite realizing he's the one in power, and being strong-armed into doing things he shouldn't by Cousin Darryl is a potent cocktail. This would probably be easy to mess up for a lesser writing crew, but Graham Yost and company know what they're doing.
What was most interesting, though, was Dewey's story was fuller than Raylan's or Boyd's in this episode.
In "Over the Mountain," Dewey was "forced" into killing Wade Messer (James Le Gros) and it went about as well as you could expect. Dewey bumbled it and shot Messer non-fatally; they fought and Dewey nearly killed himself. Dewey got lucky when Messer died from bleeding out just before being found.
