Dead Boy Detectives has taken a roundabout approach to setting up the series' general status quo. Issue #1 seemed to focus an inordinate amount of time on an art heist that had little bearing on the larger story. But with issue #2, Charles and Edwin have returned to the dreaded St. Hilarion's School for Boys and tasked themselves with safeguarding their new friend Crystal from the many dangers the school holds. Crystal herself remains mostly oblivious to their presence, but the trio are drawn closer together as this issue progresses.
