Sometimes, it feels like standalone issues are the unicorns of monthly superhero comics. There are more multi-issue arcs, crossover events, and line-wide reboots than you can shake a stick at, so when we hear that a series like The Flash is going to put forward a single-issue story, we're intrigued. Creating a compelling, self-contained narrative in a mere twenty or so pages is no easy feat, and unfortunately, The Flash #26 falls short of that goal.
