The announcement that three new games from Sony’s Japan Studio are confirmed for a Western release means the future for the PS Vita is looking brighter than ever. It comes hot on the heels of an incoming handheld version of Borderlands 2 and, of course, the redesigned hardware – which Japan Studio head Allan Becker believes is one of the reasons the Vita is enjoying a renaissance right now. “Redesigning a piece of hardware is not really about re-launching a piece of hardware, it is about cutting costs and passing those costs onto the consumer,” says Becker. “In the case of the PS Vita, more people get to enjoy their gaming on the move.”
