At WonderCon last week, shortly after the Star Wars Rebels panel had concluded, I sat down with one of the show’s executive producers, Dave Filoni, to discuss the upcoming Star Wars animated series.
Filoni is now a Star Wars veteran, having recently wrapped up his six-season stint as the supervising director on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where he worked alongside George Lucas. During our lengthy conversation, Filoni talked about the approach to Rebels — also executive produced by Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Young Justice) and Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) — which is set five years before the original Star Wars film, A New Hope, along with what to expect from the central characters.
