Publisher Wargaming will invest $10m into its eSports strategy this year, a step up from its $8m investment in 2013.
Wargaming CEO Victor Kisyli described the 2014 plan at a press conference in Warsaw, Poland. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the hefty investment comes by way of World of Tanks' increasing popularity amongst gamers in the competitive scene.
"In the beginning, it was not so much us who wanted to introduce World of Tanks to eSports," says Kisyli. "It was the players themselves who wanted to be more competitive."
