TNT has announced that it's turning The Librarian - its hit TV movie franchise that starred ER/Falling Skies' Noah Wyle as Flynn Carsen, the sworn protector of the world's mythical treasures - into a new series called The Librarians.
Wyle is set to Executive-Produce the series along with Dean Devlin (The Librarian, Leverage) and John Rogers (Leverage). Wyle will also recur on the show as Flynn, while still starring as the lead on TNT's summer series Falling Skies. With both shows being on TNT, scheduling shouldn't be an issue.
So who are the new "Librarians?" Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, King & Maxwell), Christian Kane (Leverage, Angel), Lindy Booth (Dawn of the Dead, The Philanthropist) and John Kim (Neighbors, The Pacific) will star as the new artifact protectors, with with Emmy-winner John Larroquette (Night Court) slated to play their reluctant caretaker. Bob Newhart and Jane Curtin will be recurring, reprising their previous roles from the Librarian franchise.
