Nintendo apparently had the chance to partner with Activision on Skylanders Spyro's Adventure but decided against helping finance the venture, which would have made (at least the first game in) the successful game series a Nintendo exclusive.
In a detailed account of the history of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, Polygon reports that Activision was looking for a partner for the toys-come-to-life video game. Developer Toys for Bob ventured to Nintendo of America to showcase an early development version of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure.
