HBO's new Damon Lindelof series, The Leftovers, pulled in 1.8 million viewers in its 10pm premiere on Sunday night. By comparison, True Blood's second Season 7 episode pulled 3.1 million.

HBO's original plan was to launch The Leftovers after the Game of Thrones season finale (which had 7.1 million viewers and would have put more eyes on the new series), but - as Deadline points out - The Leftovers took a short production break following the completion of its sixth episode and that ultimately led to the delay.
