Revisiting Maniac Mansion II: Day of the Tentacle

There are very few games that could be considered comedies first and foremost. We’re talking games that can be described by simply stating ‘oh yeah, that’s a comedy’ without any further explanation required.


Comedic elements and jokes are present in a large number of games, certainly, from the on-the-huge-French-sized-nose parody and satire found in the Grand Theft Auto series to the light-hearted tone and playfulness of the story sequences in something like, say, Borderlands. But you wouldn’t call either of those series’ comedies, and when it comes down to it, simply being a comedy is one thing; being a good or great one is something else entirely.
