There's a bit of a sophomore slump going on here, a dip in quality that is almost all because of the book's artwork. Conan and the People of the Black Circle is still well written, if a bit wordy, but the art loses some of its muster an becomes lifeless and repetitive. What looked exciting and new a mere issue ago now looks stiff and boring. If there is one thing a Conan comic should never be, it's boring. Hopefully, this series can recover and find that spark that gave it such a promising start.
